Inspired from Beato Angelico’s frescoes, still preserved at the convent of San Marco since 1444, both available within the colours of the collection: Pyroman red, Fog, Aurora, White light, Sunlight, Storm, Tempest and Redentore, all directly inspired from the chromatism of Venice’s mutable sky and her lagoon.

«Magdalena»
Floreal motif inspired from Maria Magdalena’ s robe, painted by Lorenzo Veneziano in the famous «Lion» ‘fondo-oro’ polyptych dated 1354, and now preserved at the Accademia Museum in Venice.
«Byzantine Ornaments*»
Series of 12 hand-painted friezes and borders inspired from venetian sacred paintings, available in heights of 5 to 15 cm., the ornaments are presented as an original solution to enrich the decorative apparatus of the collection.
«San Nicolò», «Magdalena», «A Fresco» and «Ornements» ’s colours are based on the natural shades of the original pigments used by painters at that time: Venetian Red (red oxyde), Slate, Gesso, Black Oxyde, Vert-de-gris, Ceruleum, Yellow Ochre, Porporina, Alizarina, Natural.
«Theodora»
‘Inferriata’-type design inspired from Santa Sophia of Constantinoples’ wrought-iron works. Available in two versions: time-consumed print, and gold-embroidery trompe-l’oeil.

«Coronation Robe I», «Coronation Robe II» and «Coronation Robe III» Inspired from the painted robes of Venetian dignitaries and Doges, and more specifically from a pattern on a painting representing the coronation of a doge from our house. Hand-printed with organic glues and metallic golds.

«A fresco»
Pompeiian frescoes colours are reviveing in our fabrics through an exclusive printing technique.
The appearant semplicity of these fabrics represents a powerful support for original decorative solutions.
«Milky way»
Fabrics of light, of matter. From the most archaïc gesso canvas foundations to contemporary art, white has inspired the «Milky Way» chromatic palette: every shade of white, every temperature of white, in its different textures and patinas. «Fondo -oro*» (laid and patined by hand)
Gold-leaf, discovering the ancient-looking patina, like the ‘fondo-oro’ Venetian paintings. Ideal complement to the Byzantine collection.
«Skin fabrics*»
the skin fabrics are inspired by scientific progress in the field of skin repair. These fabrics introduce traces of red pigment over shadows of greenishblue vessels, as well as tattooes, occasionally, within the pureness of the Materica Collection as a sign of life and vitality.

The Byzantine Sample Book contains 71 different hand-printed fabric references: 11 colours; two fabric qualities. Size: 50 cm x 40 cm.
That of the materica collection contains the seven «milky-way» samples, and a choice of griege fabrics. Both are edited in a very limited number and can be ordered by fax . We also have hangers of the collection.
